Right, but that's not due to a torquey engine, but because it won't be able to hit US129 at anything faster than 1st gear speeds.   Seriously though, the 883 is a dog, the 883R might be better but that's like saying that you're happy because you're a little less retarded.   :kiss3:

don't listen to doug...he's completely clueless.  The R can haul ass around the dragon...or anywhere else...just as fast as any other 50hp bike.  Actually faster than your average 50hp bike (power delivery isn't just horsepower).

get the 1200 conversion kit for it when you have the cash  ( don't cheap out get the performance cams )  puts out shitfuck tons of power :thumb: :icon_twisted:

Yeah, I'm just giving you shaZam!, they do look badass and that's really the Harley mentality.  Let us know what you think once you've ridden it.

Too many of my friends have Harley's, so I get to spend more than my share of time at Harley dealerships.   I wander around and kick the tires.  I don't really dislike them at all, they just aren't the bikes for me.

That said:   Their "blackout" trim lines look GREAT!   Nice choice!   :thumb:

You'll need a Harley helmet, Harley keychain, Harley boots, Harley belt buckle, Harley shirt, Harley cocktail napkins, Harley earrings, Harley toilet paper, Harley martini glasses.   Yeah, the dealer will be happy to sell all that stuff to ya, too!

And don't forget:  You won't be allowed to "wave" to us any more.   So f*ck you.   :icon_lol:

On those days when life is a little too much and nothing seems to be going right, I pause for a moment to ponder the wise last words of my grandfather:  "I wonder where the mother bear is?"

A friend of mine has a 1992 1200 Sportster that puts out 98 HP at the wheel and 100 lb feet of torque. It's pretty fun to ride, especially since he put the midset pegs on. It's damn near as fast as my old ass GSX-R from the same year.

I want some sort of proof.  I still don't believe you bought a Harley.

That's the one thing that I love about big HD engines, most of them are tuned VERY mildly from the factory, but with a couple grand in motor work, they can put out some decent numbers.  The one fault that I can't get over is the fact that the end result is a bike that cost $20k+ and STILL puts out less power than my $10k Triumph, I realize this is apples and oranges, but compare it to a $15k Rice Cruiser and you're still at a power deficit with the HD.  Just not smart spending in my book, then again, the only thing out there that sounds close to as cool as my Daytona at 9k RPMs, is a Fat Boy with some nice pipes.

I didn't know a Fat Boy could reach 9k RPMs.  :dunno_white:  :icon_mrgreen:

well I went to other dealerships and I dont know the harleys just seemed to fit everything I want out of a bike right now. I like the buells but they are way priced and dont have the greatest financing and I checked out the gsxr600 but I just didnt like the look or the feel. the only sport bike out right now that I really loved was the new kawasaki Z1000 .  other than that it was the harley.

I put in for the financing on the 1200R so im riding it out right now debating on the 1200R or a 883 R. so I have not 100% committed to which bike yet.

I still have the gs and Im going to keep it for the twisty's

what do you mean the buells don't have the greatest financing?  :dunno_white:

It's the same as finance as HD, friend of mine has the xb9 city sport and a xb12r firebolt great bikes.

He is the local buell owners club president.
Why didn't you just go the whole way and buy me a f@#king Kawasaki you bastards.

yamahonkawazuki

dont get the 1200. get an 883, you can get the 1200 done at the stealer for less than a 1200 would cost and have a warranty. plus if you got ballsy, you can go as high as 1340 without major mods and what is this 20k number everyone throws out. lol can get a sportie for far less than that even with mods. and btw get ( if you weanna mod it, get buell heads for it  ;), and yes i do know what im talking about, i am certified to do hd warranty work. btw once your warranty expires, get rid of that f%$king bank angle switch, one of hds very few weaknesses or you can bypass it , but if you do , do NOT cut any wires ( there are ways around that btw, but if that BAS fails, your bike will not start. that aside, hd's hold their values damn good, sporties not as well as teh big twins, but still, far better than most (regardless of the reason behind it)
