Shoei RF-1000 helmet
Cortech GX-Sport jacket
Alpinestars SMX (hot weather), SPS (moderate) and Belstaff 'gauntlet' style (cold weather) gloves.
Aerostich AD1 overpants
SIDI On-Road boots

---
The pants are great for commuting but I really need some different ones for just riding.

The weather here in Cali is usually moderate to hot and the jacket has a bunch of vents on it to keep you cool but when you close them up, you stay nice and warm. I haven't had to use the quilted liner yet. I hope to in the 'winter'.

I end up using all of my gloves at one point or another due to dramatic temperature changes. The SMX ones are really breezy so only good for hot-very hot weather.

The boots are awesome. Sooo comfortable and look good under pants at the office. Can definitely wear them all day for walking, etc... but they get a bit warm.

The helmet is good. Nice and light with mediocre venting but very good aerodynamics.

Helmet- Shark RSI

Boot- Steel toed ankle high boots

Backprotector- Joerocket Speedmaster

Gloves- Kobe proracer.

Leathers- one piece tracksuit called kobe X-pro. Extermely good valvue in regards to quality only thing that could compare was $1000+ tracksuits by dainese. Thought about a two-piece but its too easy to not wear pants so I went with the one piece. It is an execellent suit in terms of build quaility with 1.7mm thick leather and I think dainese and the other guys use 1.3-1.4mm leather and only paid like $589 for both.
Few people have reviewd them some of them crashed at the track without any holes or tears in the leathers.

HJC CL14 - It's no Shoei, but I gots a big noggin and a small wallet. Sue me.
Ducati Race Rep jacket - It's a ripoff, but it's decent quality leather and has CE armor. Plus it looks the fun bags.
Icon Anthem pants - Icon can be pretty squidtacular, but these work for now.
MotoGP flyer gloves - Cheap, good looking, comfy.
*Cough* Wolverine Boots *Cough*

Flame on!

Helmet: Arai Quantum or Shoei Platinum RJ
Vanson jackets: perf  with armor for summer, Comet with liner for winter, waxed cotton touring jacket for riding in the rain
Vanson pants:  perf Traveler with armor for summer, Route 101s for winter
Boots: Bates Fast Lanes, sport or touring
Gloves:  various, favorites are Aerostich  Elkskin tourers

Yeah, this stuff  cost more than my bikes but I have always subscribed to the adage "If you have a $10 head, wear a $10 helmet".  Plus, if you buy high end kit, it lasts.

LeChatNoir

It's funny. I did a lot of research just before I bought the GS. When it comes to protecting my one and only body, money's not a huge object for me, so I was going to go with the best stuff reviewed over at motorcyclegearreview.com. That means all Motoport customized gear. But talking to experienced riders, I got the opinion that you can buy good off-the-rack stuff for about 1/3 the price but which protects just as well. So...

Late fall/Winter/Early spring:
- Shoei RF-1000 helmet (solid white for visibility). I was going to go for the X-11 but this one fit so much better.
- Originally had a Cortech GX-Air mesh jacket, but that got ruined when I dropped the GS at 50mph
Now have a Cortech Coaster air perforated leather jacket and love it
- Generic over-ankle steel-toe workboots
- Roadgear multi-season gloves
- Originally had jeans, but didn't appreciate the scar on my knee after the crash.
Now have Cortech Venture Air mesh overpants

Alternatively, I use a "Spartan" one-piece riding suit that my uncle gave me (after giving up riding) when it's really cold out. Has anyone ever heard of this brand? I can't find any mention of it anywhere...

Hot months:
- HJC CL-15 helmet (hey, was an extra $10 along with the mesh jacket and it's well vented)
- Joe Rocket mesh jacket (can't remember offhand which model)
- Cortech air mesh gloves
- Hi-tech just-over-the-ankle hiking boots
GS500FK5 blue
Fenderectomy, reflectorectomy
Any suggestions for increasing fuel economy welcome

Am i the only power ranger rider so far? Im blue ranger which one was that?

I would say I qualify for 'power-ranger' status:

Shoei RF-1000 with blue faceshield (except, of course at night when I use the clear shield)

JoeRocket Blaster 3.0 Jacket (blue) (formerly Alpinestars TZ1)

Teknic Violator Gloves (blue)

JoeRocket Ballistic 3.0 textile pants (black)

Oxtar TCS race boots (blue)

Teknic 4-plate back protector (for those longer rides)

When commuting, I dump the boots in favor of my Lowa leather trail boots.  It is a pain to walk around all day (or even part of it) in boots articulated for the riding position.

I decided to go with the JoeRocket gear because of cost.  I know that some people complain of quality concerns with JR, and they are right.  However, you get what you pay for, and I chose JR to get the leather at the lowest cost.  If that means treating my gear with kid-gloves to keep it in good shape, then so be it.

The pants are reasonably well constructed, but the velcro closures on the leg zippers are poorly attached, and I fully expect to be forced to sew a few back on over the next season or two.  The jacket, however, feels very sturdy, has an excellent venting system, and only really suffers from a few thoughtless design elements in the wrist closures.

I am not particularly JR loyal, but I bought pants and jacket together because I wanted them to zip in to each other.  I feel a lot better on the highway knowing that my jacket is less likely to hike up on me in a slide.

Update on my riding gear list...
Yesterday I went shopping and came home with a new helmet (Nolan N102 N-Com, full-face front-lift, grey) and jacket (Suomy nylon perforated jacket, black&red).
I decided to do this because my helmet was quite falling into pieces (...it's fairly annoying to get into a road bump and see your visor come down all at once by itself like a guillotine, huh?), and because my present jacket is definitely not suitable for hot days (and I don't pretty like the idea of riding with only a jeans jacket on :nono:).
I took'em both for a short test ride, and whoa!, helmet is really another world, you can open the front with two fingers, it has air vents, anti-fog supplementary visor, detachable sunscreen...a bit costly, but now I'm set for some time :icon_mrgreen: ;jacket...double whoa!,so cool, so light, very practical...the only thing it lacks is an integrated back protector. Next to come. :thumb: :icon_mrgreen:
Anyway, today after lunch "I'm taking a ride with my best friend" (can you hear the Dave Gahan in me?    ), so I'll see better how they behave.

That's how my co-workers describe my riding gear. I'm either the Blue Ranger or the Red Ranger depending on the weather, except when it's raining (I don't think there was an orange ranger). I seem to be a glove packrat and collect those so I won't bother naming them all; here's the rest of my gear.

Helmet: Scorpion EXO-400.
Jackets: Cortech GX Air (hot weather), Tour Master Transition (cold to medium weather)
Pants: Joe Rocket Alter Ego (hot weather), Tour Master Caliber (cold weather)
Boots: Wolverine construction boots (the only part of my riding gear that isn't "real motorcycle gear")
Rain suit: orange Frogg Toggs

pandy

Helmet: Scorpion EXO-400.
Jackets: Frank Thomas perforated leather jacket, Joe Rocket mesh, need a new winter jacket
Pants: Frank Thomas textile overpants, buying some mesh pants soon
Boots: custom-fit Daytonas
Gloves: Cold Fronts for winter (still wearing them for now), perforated leather gloves for summer (both with hard knuckles)

I'm saving my pennies for custom leathers from Helimot's  :kiss3: :icon_mrgreen:

I prefer not to spend weeks worth of earnings on my moto gear but I have to say, the Shoei RF-1000 was worth the $330 I paid for it from helmetcity. Fits like a glove, quiet, streamlined, classy, quality.

Jacket: Fieldsheer nylon (cheap, warm, vented, not the prettiest, but works)
Gloves: Joe Rocket summer gloves (nice fit, some padding, did not prevent hairline fracture, but they're not bad)
Boots: Sidi ankle high street style boots (pretty good once broken in, tough leather, light, not quite street shoes but close)

Im looking for a new jacket soon, preferably one with clean lines and leather, open to suggestion.

Dublinman

My gear is as follows

BMW Helmet
AGV Sport Textile Jacket
Richa Textile pants
Akito Gloves
Akito Boots

A bit of a mixture.

Wet/Cold Hands:  Cold Front Carbons - Fit well, Cheap, Warm
