as I said above, the lights for the turnsignal and brights, the little green and blue ones,  have burnt out twice in the last two months, Im tired of spending money on new lights for them! any Ideas as to why it would be burning out so often?  Is this a common problem? should I be looking for a fuse thats gone bad? Ground???  cant find one but then I have no clue what im looking at and the clymer manual is just confusing me as I look at it.

Any Ideas??

Thanks

what brand are you using?  the biggest culprit behind people and their "my bulbs keep blowing" complaints is the fact that they're cheap and want to buy cheap shaZam!...or that they think they're pimp and want to buy stuff like super ultrabright LED bulbs and buy the cheapest/riciest pos they can find.

If you're using a good, high quality bulb then I'd just tleave them burnt.  It's most likely a loose ground, one or more of over twenty, that's causing fluctuations in the current...which stresses filaments.

Last ones were stock pieces from Suzuki, havent bought the new ones was thinking about going some where else for them this time.  but ya, If i Upgrade to LEDs will this issue go away??  thats the plan but if they are just going to burn out, then i can save a bit and buy 2 less LEDs

lED's won't fix the problem.  LED's cause more problems for half the people who attempt it.

ok other than let them be, any ideas on how to fix?  grounding locations? fuseable link?(do we even have any of these?) yada yada.

On my savage, I have had 2 turn signal bulbs (not indicator lights though) blow and subsequently break or vice versa ... in the last 3-4 months. Bulbs have turned to sheite even since they went to china IMHO.

I use the #194 auto bulbs from the auto parts/Walmart/etc stores for the speedo and tach lights and all four indicator lights.  Name brand, never a problem with them, and inexpensive.  All are same watt bulbs except the high beam indicator which is lower watt OEM but the #194 works fine there too for me.

Get the multi-meter out and check resistance from bulb socket base to battery negative pole, should be near zero reading; compare to other 2 indicator socket grounds that aren't burning out.
