That fireblade is sweet but it is far from a stock GSE.  I think we are looking at getting a new GSF or a GSE.

I love those fancy nakeds, kawa 07' Z1000 and Ducati's are rockin awesome nakeds but again they are far from a stock GSE.

When looking at stock models I still find the GSF dressed for success and the E to be left with the ugly step sisters.

I got a GSF for more practical reasons... I ride the highway alot and the faring helps comfort wise.... I like the nekid GS and probably would have got one if I was only doing town work..... my GS500FK7 is a nice looking bike.... I think anyway

I like the fairing on a bike, gsxr, cbr,r6,sv, If I had the money I would buy any one of these bikes but fully faired, As for the GS It does look good all dressed up but afer looking at all the naked bikes they have all grown on me and the naked GS looks beefy. If the upper fairing wasnt so upright I would like it but its not so off they come.

I prefer what used to be called 'standard'. Upright ergos, nothing non-functional needed. The first street bike I rode was a suzuki xxx600, and it was standard.

The fully faired bikes sometimes looks really neat, but usually just look like payments to me, and I don't 'do' payments.

I do have a soft spot for the R6's and R1's, but I think that's about it.

Could it be a primal thing, like why people want SUV's when they never go off road, mud bog, or do anything (or can afford to) other than commute in them ?

Got me. To each his own.

Yeah ... the F-models IMO look like there's something missing in the front , like they maybe could have brought the fairing down a little more or something . I think the fairings make GS's look even skinnier than they are . In general though , I DO like bikes with the fairings , they just seem like a bit much on a little GS .

VSG

I used to really like sport bikes with fairings.  I think because I mainly associated them with fast bikes.  But since I started looking around for bikes, I started to appreciated standard bikes a lot more.  They have a nice classic look.

SV650, Moto Guzzi Nevada, and Ducati Monster are all great naked bikes, IMO.

Im into streetfighters , so naked is the way forward, for me IMHO ,

i got a soft spot for streefighter bikes. i mean they got the raised back end. and the custom grungy cut front fairing or maybe no fairing at all. they look great :icon_mrgreen:. and there are a few other naked bikes i really like such as z1000 (which i would have got if i hadnt bought my hawk.), ducs, the new sv650s, 919s and 599s. but for every naked bike i see i also see a faired bike that appeals to me. my top choicees for faired right now are the 748DARK (i saw one at neptunes net last week and it was so mean lookin), VTR1000F, RC51,TL1000R and maybe the SV1000. but yea its all a matter of opinion. i personaly thought my gs looked funny with full fairing. like its front end was so big and then had the narrow gas tank and rear

looks and personal preference aside i would say function is important.  if you are buying a bike and are going to be on the highway then you will want fairings.  if you are just going around town then naked will do nicely.   it is apples and oranges though, naked, sport, cruiser,  motard they are all different.   personally i like having a naked right now but that could change any time :)

Sorry, can't leave an absolute generalization like that unchallenged. Generations of motorcyclists have somehow braved those terrible, terrifying winds without hiding behind a wall of plastic, and millions still do.. why is it that we can't, again?

hehe, thats the same thing people say about full faced helmets.  They say you dont need them.  Then again for safety full faces are better and for cutting through the wind fairings are better.

Some people like to eat bugs as well I guess.  Driving with no shield in front of your face is just insane.  Who wants smashed bugs all over their faces?  I guess Harely riders do,hehe.
