Battery problems: Part II

So, I tested my battery with an ammeter to see if there is a battery drain while the motorcycle is off.  It read 6.7 mA, so there is definitely a drain.  Now I don't know what the problem is.  A new rectifier is $130 and it is non-returnable.  So if I replace it and the drain is still there, I just wasted my money.  I want to avoid taking it to a stealership if possible.  I'm thinking about just living with the drain by getting a tender and keeping the battery on the tender while the bike is off.   

Any ideas/suggestions?

The rectifier is a relatively simple electrical circuit made up primarily of diodes (zener I believe).  I've never looked close enough at the voltage regulator/rectifier to notice whether it can be opened to service the individual parts.  Can you check and let us know?  The next step would be to find equivalent parts and test the diodes to see if they work.  If the problem is a leakage problem, you probably won't be able to measure it with a VM.  Since diodes should be relatively cheap, I'd just replace all of them before giving up and shelling out the $$$ for a new one.
