European Jets different?

Hi all - nice to be back.

I've just rebuilt my carbs - the engine wasn't running right, and it still isn't; besides other (now sorted out problems) I managed to slip the spring seat thingies *below* the needles...  :icon_rolleyes: that I'm fixing today, and probably get the bike back on the road, where it's supposed to be.

Anyhow... the curious thing is, that my main jets are 115, as opposed to 120+ which I've seen discussed here. I don't think that anyone has *ever* done *anything* to those carbs, therefore I think that they're as "stock" as it gets. What gives? Is this some kind of european weirdness or something?

My bike's '98 E, if that helps...

Cheers,

Jarno.
There are slight differences between jet sizes and needles dependent on which country the bike is sold in. The differences and variations are all listed in the service manual. Carbs for the Finish market (E-15) should have a 120 main jet as standard along with an 5DH9 needle, the same as we do in the UK. Finish spec carbs are identifiable by the ID no 01D30 on the side. USA spec carbs are numbered 01D00, they have a 122.5 main jet and a 5DH8 needle as standard.
