Well, Sunday I finally made the plunge!   After nearly 2 years together, I traded in the GS for a DL650 V-Strom.    I decided a while ago that it was the most logical "next" step for me.   I really wanted one with ABS, but it wasn't going to happen, so I settled for one without it.

The new "Wee-Strom" is gray...and I'll get bags/cases in a couple of months when the finances recover.

For the first few hundred miles, I have to keep it under 5,000 RPM, but that gets me up to 68 MPH, so it will be a piece of cake.

I'll still visit this forum, even though I'm now kinda too cool for you guys, but I kinda feel sorry for all of you.   :kiss3:

Thanks to everyone who ever helped with anything.   This really is one of the best and most useful sites going, and it's a lot of fun, too!  Thanks to the mods who keep it going!
On those days when life is a little too much and nothing seems to be going right, I pause for a moment to ponder the wise last words of my grandfather:  "I wonder where the mother bear is?"

Keep us in the loop on how it's going... probably be the way I'll go.
