The headers on the V&H exhaust of my new to me GS are in fairly sorry shape (e.g. very rusty and dented).  I've sanded the loose rust off and given it a coat or 2 of high temp paint to stop any more rustting, but I'm guessing they'll need to be replaced in a few years.  Has anyone gotten the headers fabricated at an exhaust shop or will a new exhaust be in order?

Yup, V&H is made out of donkey crap. Yosh is made out of like horse crap and stock is made from elephant crap, by far, elephant crap resists rust much better.

I suppose I'm looking to avoid buying a whole new after-market exhaust. The aluminum / stainless steel Jardine system is kind of attractive though, Figure new brake lines, springs and fork seals would be first though.
