I'm thinking about getting a better rear shock. What I need to know is will the chain hit the swing arm? I have a smaller front sprocket will this make it hit? I'm thinking either SV or GSXR.

Val
both the SV and the 88-95 GSXR750 shock will raise the rear of the bike about 2 inches
the 96-up shocks are a bit longer and usually need theupper mount cut and rewelded
want Iain's money to support my butt in kens shop

Thats cool I've got a welder now but I'm not sure about the chain.

dude, go with the katana 600 rear shock.  It is plenty beefy for the bike, raises it up about 1 and 1/2 inches, is fully adjustable (rebound and preload) and the ride is fantastic! :thumb:...it took me about 30 minutes to swap and i couldnt be happier  :)

Ok so the Kat is better then the SV thats good to know. Is the Gsxr going to better or overkil? Have you guys had issuse with the Chain, or is it a dumb Question, so it's being avoided.

I cant speak for the gsxr since ive never done it.  what i can tell you is that the gsx shock is going to be more of a pain in the ass than you need to go through.  The Kat shock is WAYYYYYYYY more firm than you will ever need practically and like i said, it is just a bolt on swap, no cutting or fabrication.  :thumb:
