mine sits out in the rain uncovered exposed to the elements.  that is until i get around to building my shed which will be after i finish putting up my pool and the deck to go around it.  may be i'll get the shed done this year.  if not i'll park it in my grandparents garage or shed for the winter.

I have my whole band's worth of equipment in my 2-car garage , my sheet metal brake & lockformer for work , a bunch of boxes (we have a split-level , so our basement is the family room) so I just currently have 2 of the cheapy covers from Walmart (they'll soak through after a couple days) . I feel horrible doing it , but if it starts raining before I get a cover on it I just leave it uncovered ... even though the covers have little pockets that supposedly are vents , the condensation buildup inside the cover will fill my muffler with water and the bike will stay wet for at least a full day afterwards  :icon_rolleyes:
Gonna get a shed soon for the boxes and X-mas stuff , and they should have our space for my new sheet metal shop/office ready soon ( i'm expanding FINALY after almost 4 years of my E350 being my "office" ... yay! AND i get to trade work for rent 'cause the dude owns a bunch of aprtment complexes with old furnaces and A/Cs  :thumb: ) , so i'll finally be able to clean my baby and KEEP it clean for more than just a couple days at a time  :icon_mrgreen: :icon_mrgreen: :icon_mrgreen:

mine stays outside with a cover... haven't had problems yet.  i don't have a carport or garage.

In the garage, with the car butted up within inches of the bike and the bike within inches of the brick wall.  They'd have to break into the garage, then break into the car to get at the bike.

I think I have my priorities in the right order.

I did the rain for a month... had to clean it like every 3 days... didn't do much, still cleaned up nice, and didn't have any issues...

then I changed to a carport, and then dust was the enemy... I had to wipe it down almost everyday...

then I switched to a garage, and what a difference, it stayed cleaner waaaay longer :)

well when i got mine a few weeks ago it had no rust....it has been rained on 3 times and now it has some surface rust....DAMN IT TO HELL! Gotta get the ramp built for my shed.

Mine sits at work in a private covered parking area (motrcycle area), at home it has 10x20 space under the car port (being closed on backwall) so dust is the reall enemy, but I live in the country so... dust is just a way of life... I clean it once a week maybe... or get dealer to do it for me when I bring it in for an oil change. (they do it for free).

rust...? the only rust I see on my ride is on the handlebars.... I will probably pull it off one of theses days sand them down, use engine paint (high temp) and use my oven at 450'f for 2 hrs to cook it on. (works well on spring shocks on my cars for years)... and be done with that issue.

cheers
