my bike stays in a locked commercial shop at night but i would like to have some sort of alarm on it just in case or for travel.  i don't need or want anything fancy if you have a lock/alarm you are not using and want to sell please let me know.  otherwise i am just going to get a xena disc lock/alarm.

I'd recommend the Xena.

From the dealer, you'd pay $90 + tax.
