Fuel Switch - ON acts like RES

I got my bike back from the shop and I REALLY don't want to take it back there anymore.  Anyway, the ON position completely depletes my fuel supply thus it's like having it on RES.  What's the likely cause of  this?  I no longer know when my main is empty.

The shop probably hooked the fuel lines up backwards.

That's my guess, too.  The line coming from the more forward tube on the tank should connect to the rear of the ON/RES/PRI petcock.  The line from the rear tube should connect to the front of the petcock.

Thanks guys... I'll test this theory and should find out if that's the case before the end of this weekend.

Same thing is happening to my 6 weeks old GS500.  I'll check the fuel line connections at first daylight tomorrow, but, unfortunately, I've found my petcock turned to RES three times when I come out of work, so there's the possibility that a disgruntled student is the cause.

Yeah, same thing happened to me. I ended up taking a long walk back home because of it. Luckily not all people in cages are bad, because a guy stopped and gave me a ride. It was a nice A6 station wagon, so my ride was even in style!
