Damn, I think you're right.  I don't see a rebound adjustment.

People change things around and sell a bike,without telling the new owner it's been changed.Some people worry they won't sell the bike if it's been changed some how.Parts end up on ebay and it's not the correct part.

I have been looking at several newer Katana shocks, and they all look like this. Am I missing something?

I e-mailed him asking if it has dampening. We'll see.

Maybe they quit putting a rebound adjustment on it.  It's hard to tell, given the angle at which the picture is taken.  It would be on the opposite end from the preload, but the dial is small.

Edit:  No, wait.  It would be in the same side.  Can't adjust anything from the other end....  I haven't looked at mine in a while, and I'm 2000 miles away at the moment.

Edit:  Changed my mind again, so I officially don't remember.

My Kat shock has a little black plastic dial on the top of it ... hope this helps hehe

Mine is the same way and I use a very long thin flat screw driver to adjust it.

preload is set using the collar on the bottom of the shock,rebound is set using the little dial on top

 He edited his listing stating that yes , it WAS a Katana shock hehe ... but one of the main reasons i went with the Kat shock was the fact that it had the preload AND rebound adjustment (and it was a couple inches taller & DEFINATELY "beefier")
I was under the assumption ALL the Kat shocks had the preload & rebound adjustment , as i didn't look for a specific model year or anything ... was i just lucky ?

And , after seeing Ben's reply , don't all "sportbike" single shocks in general have a preload adjuster ?

Even my 75 Vespa has adjustable preload shocks, front and rear.

Kat shocks will only give you about a 1/2 inch in hieght.It is stiffer than the GS.I haven't seen a sport bike shock without preload adjustment.For that matter,I haven't seen many bikes made after the late 80's that didn't have preload adjustment.Some are just hid under a chrome collar and use a bike specific tool.Most all sport bikes have rebound adjustment also.

i know i got at least an inch extra at the tail ... but then again i put the shock on before doing anything with my front springs , so there was definately a steeper angle ... much more than 1/2" even at my seat

Does your shock have the long clevis?Some of the Kat shocks have a longer clevis on the bottom.Dunno what years.
