Bike...bike-cycle.... I got a new bicycle

After about a 3 year hiatus from biking, I'm back on the pedal saddle. I have never done road, I've been a BMX, Trials and MTB guy my whole life, and old-fartiness has kicked in. I'm still holding off on the spandex and leg shaving, but I am psyched to try road for a while.
It's a new Felt F55 that I got a good deal on from the bike shop I worked at as a kid cause the owner is still there.

Also bought the lady a nice used GT ZR4000 Road bike off eBay this week. See if she comes riding also, odds are it will be a nice wall ornament for the apartment.

Ksyrium rims????  I forget are those tubed or tubeless.  So you gotta be running Ultegra or Dura-Ace.
Nice Bike :thumb:

CasiUSA

Yeah, it's a Dura-Ace/Ultegra mix, and the wheel set is actually Mavic Aksium Clincher- which I like better... I just don't trust tubeless tires.

Absolute Rescue

If you ever get up to Orange County to ride hit me up. Nice Ride.

I've been out of the loop for a while.  Those must be the new ksyrium's.   Back in the day I did sprints and Time Trials so I was all for tubeless at about 180psi.  Have fun,  I've heard nothing but good things about Felt :thumb:

NICE! :thumb: Trade ya a GT Outpost Trail for it.  :icon_mrgreen:

Sweet bike. I have an old raleigh I keep around because I keep thinking I will get baxk in shape one of these days :icon_rolleyes:
My last real road bike was a Vitus aluminium frame I started with and built up from the ground up. 1985 was when I built that bike I quit cycling in 88.
Prior to that I had an older Bianchi frame my uncle quit using I built with Shimano 600ex parts. My first road bike was when I was 10 I got a 20" nishiki frame with 24" sewups.

Sorry seeing that radially laced front rim got me all nostalgic. Thinking about doing that on my Vitus.
Why didn't you just go the whole way and buy me a f@#king Kawasaki you bastards.

Sweet. One of the cat 2's I used to toy with had a nice felt. He was the fire-hydrant type, I'm the bean pole type.

My old trek 5900 is gathering dust. There are group rides daily of >60 roadies here, I'm just lazy I guess.

Good choice, now damn the torpedos, shave and slide into spandex ! It's the only way for >110 mile rides !

PS - Chicks really dig the shaved legs.

I've done the Boston-NY Aids Ride (+/- 300 Miles in 3 days) on a Mountain bike with slicks, baggy pants and hairy legs. It's amazing what you can do when you're too insecure for spandex and leg shaving

My little bro just picked up a Felt F4.  Good bikes, feels real solid.

Have fun!

Pablo trimmed his collection down (last I heard) to a Bianchi road frame with fixed gear wheels.  That's what I've got, aside from an old MTB that I converted to SS.

The spandex isn't all that bad after you ride with it, it's feels great when you are moving, you stay a lot cooler, and you don't have all that drag from shorts. But please never wear spandex shorts without a jersey as well. nice bike!
