Ummm... lol , i took me a moment to realize the "sardine eaters" had replaced d y k e s ... I'm like "What an odd thing for him to call them" , but then i looked at my own post where i KNEW what i had typed , and there it was again

And YES , cutting cable ties flush is one of the major reasons i use these . The cheapo's with the short angled cutting surface will also transfer a pretty good shockwave to your wrist when cutting through solid-core wires also ... i had a sprained thumb for a few days once from using cheapo sided y k e s

I thought it was One of those Northern things when I read Sardine Eaters.

I didn't catch that either. Unintended consequences, I guess some mod didn't know there was a perfectly legitimate, non-slang definition for the term.

Sigh.

I think I'll edit the posts... it's bound to confuse anyone searching on the other term...

I do believe mine are 6" , so yeah , that's probably it . The colored handles on those specific Kleins are red for straight & blue for a slightly angled jaw (angled relative to the handles that is) , either would work , but reds are preferable . They claim the grips won't isolate you from voltage on their sidesardine eaters , so they aren't color coded for voltage

Eric I Picked up a couple Pairs of those "Sardine Eaters". One Pair is D252-6 for the 6" and D228-8 for the 8". He Also Has sets of Red Handled ones in the Red Handle D248-8 8".The problem is they have very Light Surface rust on the Jaws. Not really a Problem but with as many tools that he has he Has a Slight Problem with Climate Control.

on the D228-8 he can do $16.00 per Pair

on the D252-6 He can do $13.00 Per Pair

If you will go to www.shopping.com his Prices are lower than any listed there. :thumb: :thumb:

on the rest of the Linesmans Pliers,Needle nose,Front Strippers/Rear Crimpers,Front Crimpers/Rear Strippers,Duplex Strippers and Crimp tools I'll take my Camera and line everything up in the Next day or so and Get some Model Numbers. :thumb:
