Would you ressurect a Wooly Mammoth?

There is a moral debate about it though- would you like to see this done?

I personally would. And I want a Jurassic Park. And a pet Raptor. With robot claws. And maybe a mechanical jaw that could open cans and bottles.

If we have a moral obligation to try to preserve a certain species that sucks to bad to survive on its own, such as the California Condor, then I think we have a moral obligation to bring back a species if we have the ability to do so.

This post scores a perfect 100 on the "retarded statement scale".  

A)  You can't resurect Hitler.  You might be able to clone him.
B) Assume he was cloned: Would he be recognized as THE Hitler in 40 years when he was old enough to lead, or a man that looked like him?
C) Would he have as much political influence?  Remember, he wasn't magic, or the anti-Christ, or a demon.  He was a very pursasive public speaker.
D) Would any government in existance today tolerate his rise to power and agressive conquests of other nations?  
E) The Nazi party isn't what it used to be, and aside from some prison gangs (whose scientific knowledge is limited to making alcohol out of some oranges and a space heater) and pretty much is no longer a threat to society (unless your La Ounda or BGA).

Anyway, plants/animals go extinct daily... becoming nothing more than DNA sample. While it's good to keep, I question morals of bringing something back for science of show vs. necessity ...

Now a Tetradactyl, that would be sweeet ride ... sure use one of those for when my GS is in the shop.

I understood your point.  I think we all agree that cloning humans would be morally wrong, or at least questionable.  The purpose of cloning a human must be questioned as well, but I don't see the why it would matter who was cloned.  But for what purpose.  I think that is what is important to ask.

Why is clonign Hitler more wrong than cloning Ghandi?  Would be cloning Hitler to take out more Jewish people, or revive a long since dead Nazi party?  Would the existance of a mini-Hitler make either one of things easier or more likely?

Another example would maybe be Anton Levay?  You think the satanists are looking to get some DNA together, maybe clone their dark lord?  Oh but they don't have the technology but if they did, what is the point?

Althoug the the temperature differences in our perspective are very sever, the temperature differences in relation to some of the massive heating and cooling cycles our planet has gone through are very meager.   Many Geologists currently believe we are still currently in the 'ice age' that Wooly mammoths are commonly believed to exist in.     Sorry, there goes my geology student side again
