woot!!!

I admit, I'm not the type that can have just one drink. The only way that happens is if that's all there is... and I never let that happen  ;)
Superbike bars, '04 GSXR headlight & cowl, DRZ signals, 1/2" fork brace, 'Busa fender, stainless exhaust & brake lines, belly pan, LED dash & brake bulbs, 140/80 rear hoop, F tail lens, SV650 shock, Bandit400 hugger, aluminum heel guards & pegs, fork preload adjusters, .75 SonicSprings, heated grips

How did I not see this thread before? Amazing.

If I do drink, it's usually beer. Some favorites:

- Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout
- Sierra Nevada Narwhal Imperial Stout (simply stunning for a mass produced "craft" beer)
- Bell's Double Cream Stout
- Bell's Kalamazoo Stout
- Red Hare Sticky Stout (local)
- Blue Tarp Funk Weisse (local)

If I can't find any of those, I'll settle for Yuengling; especially draft. Otherwise, I'll either order a Disarono & Cranberry w/ lime or a Kahlua and H&H. Personally I prefer Kamora over Kahlua; it seems slightly less sweet.

With Cincinnati being the big German city that it is (Oktoberfest Zinzinnati is the second largest in the world, only to Munich), Oktoberfest season is starting up here this weekend. My wife, kids, and I will be at an Oktoberfest celebration essentially every weekend for the next month or so. That means lots of delicious food and beer in my near future! Can't wait!

I'm going all Showbiz on a 6-pack of 'Brew Free or Die IPA' right now. Anyone joining me?

Since we're about to ring in the New Year, it seems like a good time to revive this one. What's everyone drinking this weekend?

My brother-in-law bought me a bottle of Woodford Reserve for Christmas, so I'll likely be sipping on that. When the ball drops, we'll enjoy a glass of cheap champagne (because I couldn't tell you the difference between a $15 bottle and a $150 bottle).

My other BIL has what he says is a nice scotch in his cabinet - we're celebrating at his house - so I may give that a try, but I'm not much of a scotch drinker. I much prefer American whiskeys.

Not too much different for me here... I'll be drinking Hamm's as always  ;)

Gonna have my friend Ashley over to my house to exchange Christmas gifts and then hang out 'til the new year. She likes those Seagrams Escapes drinks so I bought some of those.

rscottlow I'm with ya on the scotch... never cared for it much but I do love whiskey and bourbon !!

I'll probably have a few beers, but I haven't gone and bought anything specific. Maybe I'll go get some hard root beers or something lol.

ShowBizWolf

There ya go!! A little something different is good  :)

Anybody wanna throw me some suggestions for what I can mix with a 2 liter of 7up that I've had for a while now?

Like not 2 or 3 things, just one. And not sloe gin because I've done that one to death lmao. Some kind of flavored vodka maybe? I have no idea because I don't mix drinks... but I am sick of looking at that soda sitting in my bar fridge  :icon_razz:

Buddy of mine brought over some Pumpkin beers around Halloween..... wow. Glad those are seasonal!

QC, the root beer is good but try the cream soda (vanilla ale maybe?). I like cream soda, so I sucked them down.

How about 7 and 7? (that is, Seagrams 7 and 7-Up). Not the best tasting drink out there, but if you're looking for something simple...and cheap...

ShowBiz, 7UP or Sprite is pretty good paired with any fruity vodka (raspberry, blueberry, grape, etc), I think.

Rich, I've had a few hard sodas and I've yet to have one that I didn't at least think was drinkable. The root beers are my favorite for sure, though. I do like cream soda though, so I'll have to give the cream ones a try.

The Henry's Hard Orange Soda is actually pretty tasty too.

I had one of those the other night, actually. Pretty much all of the Henry's stuff is pretty good. They make a hard ginger ale too, and my girlfriend is pretty into that.

Take it from a liquor consultant, Woodford is THE BEST $30 American Whiskey you can get, and represents excellent value.  It tastes well above its market.  I'd pay $40 for it without even blinking.  Maybe not $50, but at $30 it's a bargain.

I don't know what I'll be drinking.  I know for a fact it'll be a whiskey.
Weller Wheated Bourbon, Johnnie Gold, JD Single BBL and/or rye...  Something unique but not outrageously expensive nor that difficult to find.  New year's Eve is a special occasion but it's not like a wedding or a career leap or anything...

If I'm feeling excited I might get out the Yamazaki 12, or the Angel's Envy Rye.
No way I'm opening any Sinatra.
If I end up going by my cousin for the evening I'll bring the Booker's I got for Xmas to share.  Otherwise I'm going to save it.

And of course a tradition as old as time itself, Welches Sparkling Grape Juice for Das Kinder, and I won't be able to resist myself!

@ShowBiz
Any fruity drink will mix with citrus soda.  Berry moonshine will work well, so will any vodka.
But being a fan of brown liquor I would be remiss if I didn't recommend brandy.
It's made of distilled grapes so it has some fruitiness, but it's subtler.  You won't be "killing it" with 7up like you would a vodka where the vodka flavors the 7up, you want the brandy to be the focal point while the 7up adds some effervescence and a lighter finish.

I like Spanish Brandy.  It's WAY better than the "staples" like E&J at a fraction of the cost of Cognac.  Don Pedro or Torres 10 are good choices and won't break the bank ~$20.

This is good advice.

Berry moonshine + 7UP would be absolutely delicious lol.

Thank you SO much guys!!! This really helps. Yeah Ashley likes the fruity drinks so this will work well.

I'm gonna write this stuff down for when I go to the store  ;)

Hamm's? Really? Do they still make Hamm's? I remember Hamm's was like $4.99 a case back in the day.
