And are faced with the decision to either stop for breakfast, or stop for gas. I highly suggest stopping for gas. A gas can costs $6.99 + tax at a gas station.

That is all.

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

Maybe you should do a write up for the wiki.  :dunno_white:

I always keep 5 gallons in my building. If I need gas and don't have or don't want to stop,I just go and get my gas.I always visually check my tank before start up.Never know when you might have a leak after setting awhile or forgot to reset the trip meter.
PICS are GONE never TO return.

Here's another tip:

If you think you may have the fuel lines backwards or perhaps your tank petcock is messed up AND you think you might be low on gas, GO GET GAS!

The GS is a REALLY LAME bicycle!

For those of you without the stock reserve petcock, there are two rules:

1)  Always fill your tank completely.  Budget accordingly

2)  Always reset your odometer after filling your tank completely.

I may, or may not have developed those rules through experience.   8)
Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

I hit reserve on the way to work, and did about 12 miles. I then did another 2 or so to get to chik fil a and back. Then shut the bike off, and she wouldn't start when I went to leave for lunch. I'm running rich sometimes and lean sometimes (My carbs are all f%&ked up from the rust in my tank, and I need a valve adjustment).. I know I'm lean because even with no choke, she idles at 4K, or she dies when I pull the clutch in when coasting down to a stop, even when warm (Same problem as blueskygal.. I'm attributing mine to a needed valve adjustment, will do it when pastrami sends me the damn kit).... She's rich because i constantly smell gas, and sometimes get a backfire on starting. Also rich because my fuel economy has recently dropped to less than 30mpg, which is ridiculously low for a stock GS. I'm going to a K&N lunchbox, new jets (Don't remember the size and too drunk to look them up right now), and a carbon fiber wileyco soonish. Don't want to pull the carbs before then, no sense doing the work twice. I also have a fuel leak somewhere in the carbs, gotta find that. Not floats, only leaks when running, not sitting. I gotta get the tank lined by a radiator shop too, to get rid of the rust, which should fix most of my problems.
