Just saying hey to everyone,

I just picked up my 91 gs last friday and I have to say it is a blast.  This is the first bike I've ever owned and I'm still learning, but 200 miles in a week isn't bad.  heck, would have been more, but she had to have the tires replaced.

I'll post up some pics tonight whenever I get home.

I just replaced the tires with Maxxis promax 110/70 and 150/70.  she rides nice now.  I know they're not the best tires, but they'll do me good for the next 5k or so till I learn to ride better.  right now I'm just taking it easy.

The guy who owned the bike before me installed stage 3 jets (don't know what size that correlates to) but the bike is still stock, so she's only getting 33-35 mpg.  I'll be installing a lunch box, custom exhaust, and ignition advance next week.  it sucks running out of gas at 150 miles or so.

I'm in Raleigh NC, so if any of you guys are around my area just let me know.

The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

good judgement trumps good skills every time.

welcome indeed.  This is a good forum... some of these guys really know what they're talking about.  Enjoy the GS, start slow, and wear your gear.

Hi there and welcome.

Most folks get 50-60 mpg here. If yours is really in the 30's something is amiss.

Be careful - you know what they say about the first six months ;)

Enjoy your 'new' GS, its a great bike.

ahem PICS ?

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

It looks like I'll be moving out your way next month. We will have to get out and ride some.

Absolute Rescue

The mods you are installing soon should help to reduce your rich jetting condition. Have fun with the GS its a great bike to learn on. Ride Safe :thumb:
