I and many others are very confused about what has happened here the past couple days.I myself don't care about it.I don't understand what the big deal is with posting a link to a chat site.I don't like them any way. Most of us just want the forum back to the calm place where we can share our knowledge and learn. We had an influx of new people, and it's very bad for new people to come in on this mess.I can only speak for myself, tho.I have learned a lot here and met a few friends, but if this keeps up,I know how to delete myself from here.I really don't wanna do that, but I will. This forum is supposed to be informative and helpful. There really should be no use to have moderators or administrators except to keep the site up and running.Maybe it would help to close the site for a week and put out a be back soon sign.

thank you..

as it stands, the moderators are putting in MORE hours than they should be due to the extra fighting on this site.

It never took so much moderation as of late. People need to grow up.

the biggest problem we have here is that the intention was to have a site for people to learn, and swap information about the gs.  instead its a hangout spot.  i loved this site when i first got my bike, now its a big joke. WTF do you guys even have bikes for, as much time as some of the members spend on here postin garbage, i dunno how they have time to ride at all, a lot of people need to grow up and move on around here

I agree, this is an information sharing site.  To the best of my knowledge, (and anyone can correct me if I'm wrong) a member was banned do to the sharing of GS related information that 'wasn't approved'.  I keep hearing that there is more to the story, but what that more is remains to be discovered.  Then, another board member was banned, apparently, for speaking out against the first ban.

So, how can this be an information sharing resource if people cannot share for fear of being banned, and if the knowledgeable people on the forum are banned from it (or just refuse to show up anymore due to the boards leadership)?

Maybe it would be helpful for a mod to just post up and tell us what the deal is instead of the rumors that are created by the information void due to said moderators' actions (i.e. deleted posts, banned members, and information censorship).

P.S. We're not "killing the forum."   :bs:  Anyone that's been a member of this forum for any length of time knows that this forum is always going through its ups and downs.  Truth be known, the forum hasn't been the same since we lost the regular, helpful posts of Roadstergal, Kerry, Pantablo, and other old-school members.

The forum will bounce back, but not due to disciplinary actions...at least not the way they've been handled recently.  It will bounce back when people learn to be civil with each other, even when they disagree.

i guess i needed to add suzuki gs500 information.  not oersonal chat sites, not video's from youtube about stupid crap, not posts that are full of offensive images.  and definetly not posts that are made just to trash someone else.  im a moderator for a local non-motorcycle board, an its simple over there, i don't take any of this childish bullshit we have goin around on here.  an ya knopw what, its still very active, an has on average 3 new members a day that post.  the mods here are way too soft, first time someone pulled this whinin stuff about someone gettin banned, then they would be gone too, end of story, an anyone else who wanted to step up against management, cya as well.  its a priveledge to post on here, not a "right"  as a lot of people like to think.

That's a great philosophy for getting rid of a lot of quality people in a hurry...

P.S. you're ignorant...no offense, but too many posts have been edited, deleted, and locked for you to know any more than what's being fed to you.

no it gets rid of pronlem people.  how many gsjacks, patablo's, kerry's have u seen shoot off their mouth like an idiot?  exactly  this site has ran off more knowledge then the site knows what to do with, all for the sake of a bunch of ignorant posters

The chat is not personal, it's a GSTwin chat that USED to be supported by the very people denouncing it now...but don't bother trying to find the thread about it....it's been deleted.  And, I agree that posting is a priviledge, I'm just trying to voice concerns about the lack of information that many people are operating under due to the deleted threads and altered posts.  It feels less like moderation, and more like a personal attack.

When and why did Pantablo leave?....I guess I didn't log on for a while at just the wrong time  :dunno_white:

IF the mods have to turn into adolf hitler ( to straighten this mess out) then sieg heil  but i sure as hell hope it doesnt have to come to that. hell ive eben here long enough to remmeber when one of pablos custom title was " post nazi" albeit briefly

I'm newer here , but i haven't noticed too much truly "hateful" stuff , but whatever doen't rock the boat is what we need to be doing . I've garned so much useful info from all the fine people here that i would be distraught to have it all be taken away from us .
It's easiest just to think of ourselves as being "guests" in someone's home ... if you have to ask yourself "is this gonna offend someone" , then maybe just don't say it . I mean it's the internet , there's no reason to get mad and attack someone anyway , so it shouldn't be any problem at all  :dunno_white:

P.S. - finally got my jets and Lunchbox installed tonight and they ROCK !!! But seriously , i never could of done it (nor would i have had an inkling of where to START doing it) if it weren't for the fine people on here . I've started riding with many more people than ever before , and i almost inevitably have the "smallest" bike there , but i get lots of compliments on it , especially when they see how well it performs . I KNOW i would have never realized it's potential if not for this board , so please guys , whatever it takes , KEEP THE BOARD alive and the mods happy  :kiss3:

This is a good site with a lot of good information and some really good people.
It's just life that with good, there will also be the "bad."

I know the mods must have their hands full but they seem to do a really good job.
I've seen some really ignorant posts, some inflamatory posts, etc but for the most part, it's not TOO bad.

I don't post much because I really don't have a whole lot to offer.
Mostly, I just have/had questions that I found answers to through PMs and diligently searching.
It's a shame when stupidity runs rampant but compared to a lot of other sites that I've been a member of, this one is actually pretty tame.   :thumb:

I especially like the fact that there's some people here in other countries because it's nice to see things that aren't "here" and it makes me feel more worldly. (Even though I was in the Navy and have traveled the globe extensively.)

Anyway, big thanks to the mods for all the hard work and time they put in.
Also big thanks to the people that are nice enough to take the time to help those of us out that are honestly trying to make something better be it our bike or ourself.
I may not have a GS500 anymore but I'll always love the bike for getting me into riding in the first place and will always smile when I see one on the road.
Enjoy the time you have because you only go around this ride once!
Be safe!
