It would be nice if the small minority of people here would have a thicker skin, an ability to let things lie, and would merely pass by posts they find some objection to.

People need to realize that the moderators are volunteers.  As a free resource, there is no one who gets paid for helping to organize and placate the posts here.  Someone is paying for this site and we should be grateful that this wealth of information remains available for anyone to access.

I've seen what happens when the owners of a site get fed-up with continued trouble.  THere used to be a site called BeginnerBikes.com.  During December'04 there was a similar, but fatal flair-up of personalities.  The owner, who didn't have any moderator help, got so angry with the BS that he shut down the site and all posts -- all the useful information on selecting a motorcycle as an introduction to motorcycling -- was lost. 

It would be an unrecoverable loss to the GS500 owner community if the same happened to this site.  There is so much useful information here.

I wish there was more self-control and more focus on the motorcycle.  Thankfully the General Discussion forum is still largely true to this topic, and GS500 in particular.

Your level of particiation is not unusual, and not bad.  Thanks for caring about this place, and your support.  Maybe someone reading it will realize the error of their ways and help us make this a better place to learn about motorcycling and the GS500.

i've always been told all things in moderation. including moderation. several things recently bother me about the happenings round here. since i am neither a mod, or an administrator or any such thing i think it best i keep my opinions to my self.
