So my Parts-Unlimited rep shows up yesterday and flops a helmet box on the counter... not just any helmet box, a Suomy helmet box.  Not just any Suomy helmet but the extreme and he tells me it's a 2008 preview helmet and he gets ONE a year to sell AT HALF PRICE to any one of his dealers that he wants.  This year, it's sitting on the counter in MY store.  Now, $325 bucks for a helmet that retails for $649.95 it an insane deal... not to mention that he doesn't need to collect any tax on it so it's three twenty five for the lid... no more.

Now any other time in my life I would have jumped on that like a recently released inmate on Paris Hilton BUT(lately I've had ALOT of big buts screwing my plans up) I'm getting married in less than three months and apparently my soon to be wife and I don't have a ton of extra cash to throw around.  She told me we could get by if I got it but it would be easier to have that $325 available.  So now my good judgment and my irrational side are fighting like Rocky and that russian dude.

Suomy ... BFD ... Its a POS with hyped up graphix. OK its a shoei with over blown graphix ... Nice, but hardly $650 material, Its worth 325 on a good day, just like any other shoei lid.
Now if it was a Bieffe GPR in the right size for me, I'd be all over it.

Maybe true... All i know is it's comfortable as hell, fits like a glove, is vented like crazy, weighs next to nothing and is BSI certified.  Compared to the Z1R shyte I usually buy because I can afford em.  It's a dope a$$ lid IMO.  It's coming down to this lid and be broke or an Icon and not be broke.

Your head is going to be a little more important than the $325.

$325 for a lid, how much is the solid colored version, you typically pay an ass ton just from some vinyl decals(not unlike the GS500F)

the spec 1R Extreme doesn't come in solids... you get your choice of 13 graphics, including the two Bostroms and the Capirossi graphics.

Screw the damn suomy ... get a nice arai or shoei or Bieffe.
I like Bieffe.
Z1 is a good helmet, its pretty light toom however the shell is huge ass ... like sticking your head in queen latifah's ass ... you're going to never get hurt, just get out of there before she decides to sit down.
