I am pleased to announce that on Monday, August 13th at 12:30pm in room 301A of the Chemistry Research Building in University Park, PA a healthy new 185lb PhD was born.

Hooray for ME!   

Now I have two days to clean out my desk and hit the bars to kill off as many brain cells as possible before I start my new job at American University.

Biophysical Chemistry

It is amazing.  Now that I have defended I have even MORE work than before.  Two publications to submit, a dissertation to edit and preparation for the course I will be teaching this fall.  It makes me miss the good old days of undergrad, when graduation was followed by a month of celebrations and sleeping in before moving on to my first job.

It still hasn't really sunk in what I've accomplished.  I think it may hit home when I start my teaching job and hear "Dr. Davis" or "Professor Davis" on a daily basis.  Here in the chem dept at PSU, i'm still just "Ron" to everybody, I'm still working on the same projects and it feels very familiar.

Anywho.... I can't wait to see what is next.
