hi everyone, i've done a search and couldn't find any info on recommended service locations in orange county, ca. can anyone recommend a place for regular scheduled maintenance? my 4000 miles is coming up soon and i would like to get the oil change, clutch adjustment, drive chain tension, and other stuff checked. living in an apartment complex where they won't let you work on your vehicles in the parking port really sucks. anyway, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

NOT ApexMoto, I can tell you that much. If they cant figure out how to mount some tires properly, I wouldn't trust them changing sparkplugs.

Sorry I cant reccomend any shops, I do all my own work.

Good luck down there, Foobar might know of someone he's in your area. I have had it with shops up here in Ventura. Tired of getting burnt, and looking for a community college that offers classes or something, but not going back to a mech unless I have no other choice.  :thumb:

i hear ya, man. i would like to do my own work but don't have a garage. all this talk about shady/incompetent mechs just makes me want to get a house even sooner. damn these california home prices.  :bs:

I've gotten my bike serviced at Southland Cycle in Garden Grove.

So far they have been very good as in prices and haven't ripped me off. They even fixed an oil leak I had for free (I didn't buy my bike there either)! They have been there for over 30 years I think and the mechanics seem to be really nice.

Other then that, I think some of my co workers get their bikes serviced at Spectrum Motorsports: spectrum-motorsports.com

They scraped the shaZam! out of my painted wheel when mounting my tire and seemed like a bunch of hacks with shitty equipment. Go there if you want.  :cookoo:

4000 mile service? check what that entails...I think its an oil change and checking the brakes and other consumables...only thing you really need a shop to do is the valves and that doesnt get checked till 16,000. I put 9,000 miles on my gs and it was all oil changes only pretty much.

if you're willing to travel, Mototechnica in ELA is an exceptional shop. so is GPmoto in west los angeles.

woah, didn't know this thread was still alive and well. pantablo, himself, speaks out, too.

thanks for all of the info, guys. it sounds like i have a lot of choices in socal. i think i'm just going to tackle this 4k oil change / service myself. i convinced a friend to let me borrow his garage. it helps that he's a biker, too. anyway, i'm glad i have a bunch of references to local and no-so-local shops, in case i need major work done.  :thumb:
