For all that are interested in riding in Orange County, New York, about an hour north of NYC, we're currently considering Saturday, May 3, 2008 as a meeting date. We'll keep you abreast of plans and possible routes, and if you're interested please reply that way we can keep tabs on how small/big the group ride may be.

Thanks for posting that gaspy. Also if you have any requests as far as the route goes post here so we can try to start working up a route.

Nothing set in stone yet as far as date, just figured we would throw out a data and gauge response. I'm pretty flexible at this point  I have no other plans that far ahead so basically everything can go around this meet. Anyone interested throw out your ideas here willing to take any suggestions (date, route, whatever else you can think of).

Hey thanks for the notice on this thread.... I live in upstate New York but, I would def be down for a weekend road trip to meet up with some fellow gs owners and riders in general.

RobTheTyrant

Naw... Upstate is where I am.  To be UPSTATE you need to be a stones throw from Canada.  Not sure how many of us are up here but it would be cool if everyone rode to a somewhat central location and went from there.  I'm north of Watertown... about 2 hours north of Syracuse, I'd def be down for it though.

It doesn't get warm up that way till like august right , I might have to make a trip up there this summer sometime. I hear there are some nice roads up there.

naw... we get good weather about the end of July.  And yes, there are VERY nice roads around here.  There are alot of crappy ones, but some really nice ones too.

Spring is approaching. I went to Cali this past week and rented a bike(harley night train 1560 cc's). Now I really want to ride bad. Weather should start warming up nicely. East coast riders will have to get together

Bought a GS400 this weekend and also rode my GS500. I did some routine maintenance to it as well. I am calling to put insurance on my bike today, and I will do the inspection, registration, etc. on Friday. So I will be road ready this weekend. Looking forward to putting some serious miles on my bike.

Also, since I last posted I did some more stuff to the bike...
'89 clip ons with aluminum bars
sonic constant rate springs
katana rear shock
I will also be doing dual headlights eventually

Hi all,

Apologies for not updating you sooner. I've been putting in long hours at work and haven't finished my f to e conversion on the GS. Needless to say, the NYC-Goshen May 3rd ride didn't happen, but I'm still game to do it this season. Absolute Rescue and Kamel, I'll let you guys know as soon as I have the project finished, the bike insured and registered, and out here in NY. Currently it's in storage out in Long Island and I'm dying to get on the road again! I don't anticipate being ready until mid-June. I hope it still runs!

let us know as soon as you have any info. We will get ready!

cheers

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and I'm hopefully getting a '94 within the next week and a half or so. I'm gonna be out in the Jersey suburbs (New Brunswick) not too far from New York. I've been riding a suzuki savage for almost a year now, but mostly cruising the freeways in LA, so I'm pretty new to sport riding and high-speed twisties (once or twice up the Angeles Crest is about it). I'd still love to come along on some weekend rides, provided you don't leave me in the dust.
