95 PURPLE GS500E F/S NY Long Island

Hey guys/girls. Havent posted in a while. Sorry. 
I came across a PURPLE 95 GS500e earlier today for sale on Long Island. The owner (didnt speak english much), has relayed to me through his brother (translator) that it needs a battery, fuel filter, is missing the muffler. I may buy this myself. I planned on buying a battery and throwing it in and trying to start it up, may have been sitting for 12- 18 months. Owner wanted $700 for it. i took a quick peek at it and it didnt lok too bad.
I wanted to throw this out there because if I dont take it or needs more work than I have time for (still have my 04F), if anyone else is interested I guess I can mediate or give you his number.  When i saw the bike my first thought was of this forum I have missed for so long.
Lastly, is it a good deal? I know it may be hard to say , I dont know mileage yet on it either. Any input would be appreciated. If anyone wants it, whether I buy it or not let me know. If it doesnt need much more work then I may scoop it up get it tuned a bit and resell to a member. Maybe someone who may have bigger plans for it. Send me a message or email with your comments, suggestions, offers, or anything else. I am going to pick up a battery and try to stop there by the weekend. Thanks.

Why buy a new battery, just ride over with a few tools and temp. switch yours out.

Or take your battery over  Might want to take a can of starter fluid as well if it has sat that long 

Doesnt seem too high a price depending on what it looks like. + you can prob get him down to 500 if you set the cash out in front of him

Those are good ideas. I guess my brain is a little fried still. I'll probably take my battery over there with the starter fluid. I have to call him tomorrow. Thanks guys!!!

I have thought about it and i have decided not to buy the bike. I did not go try it. But if anyone else is interested let me know. I can get more info or put you in touch with the seller.
My money will be better spent on the 04 I have now.
