I put a gs500 engine in a minisprint and I'm having trouble making it run smooth on both cylinders at lower rpms.  With the throttle held wide open it will fire smoothly on both cylinders from about 6500 rpms and up (while under a load),  it revs up fine in neutral.  Does anybody know  the stock settings for the carbs and the stock jet sizes?   I was going to start with that.  The plugs do not read the same , thats why I thought the carbs may not be matched properly.  Anyone have any advce?

Thanks,, Dave

What year carbs? They changed from 2 jets to 3 in 01.

This may help:

Common sense in not very common.

Vacuum balance the carbs.  But, first make sure the butterflies are opening at the same time.

good judgement trumps good skills every time.

2 other issues to think about. Being this motor is in a minisprint, I assume you are using either a luncbox or pod filters. Also what kind of exhaust mods? Jetting would have to be changed from stock for these modifications.
