I have a '96 GS500e.  Does anyone know what kind of fuel mileage these get?  Had it about a month now.  I heard it's around 58mpg.  Just wondering if that number is fairly accurate.  Thanks.

search. All 3 posts that you've made are easily answerable through the search function. Search for "Sudco" to answer jetting questions, or check the wiki, under "rejetting". Search "mileage" to answer your fuel milealge questions, and search "windscreen" to answer your windscreen question.

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

Just like a car, mileage varies with type of useage.  I get as high as mid- to high-60's (MPG) if traveling 50-60 MPH, and as low as low 50's on short trips around town.  Highways gives me low 60's.  Winter warmup hurts spring & fall riding especially for local trips.  I'd guess my average is 55-58 MPG, and my 2001 is stock carburetor and exhaust.

Your question is not inappropriate -- I for one am glad to answer.  But as NiceGuys has suggested, there is a lot of "instant gradification" achieved on this subject with a search.

I have an '04.
I get 52 MPG on the interstate and as high as 63 on easy back road rides.
Don't pay to much attention to the search Nazi's.

nice comfortable values.

My 97 gets around 46 miles to the gallon with the mods as listed in my sig.  My jetting is still a little off, but I'm not expecting much more than that when I get it straightened out.

Thank you for those who gave me some advice.  I'm new to riding and to these forums.  I tried searching before I posted my questions, but didn't have much luck.  Will keep trying.

Sorry, didn't mean for that come off as abrupt, I was on my way to work and didn't have time to post all the relevant info. But seriously, each of these has been covered at least 3 times in the last 3 months, there's a wealth of information here. Try using boolean search operators, it helps a lot.
