ask and thou shall receive...

These are the Third-Eye brand. Made for bicycles. $13. Hard plastic. They just plug into the hollow end of your handlebars.

..so obviously you have to cut wholes in the ends of your grips.

Doesn't increase your wing span too much...

...but if you need to cut traffic just fold em' in.

These mirrors work great...but they ARE small. Given they're size and the vibration of the bike, when on the freeway I usually can just make out that there's a vehicle there..couldn't tell you if it's a cop car or what though. Works well enough for me. I tend to look over my shoulder when I change lanes anyways.

I've also had the Napoleon Brand. Bigger. More durable. Metal. Seemed to interfere with my levers at times.

I am working on a write up on how to install cat eye mirrors and keep the barends for protection.

Here's the link to cat eye mirrors. They ship quick.Recieved mine in a week.

Don't waste your time trying these. I did. They don't work at all.

I'll second the original comment about Third Eye mirrors.

They work very well for me. I have only noticed a slight vibration at speed. I can usually tell a LEO from a F150 when viewed via these.

Interesting note about changing lanes:

You WILL move your head to check blind spots if you install these. In my opinion, this makes lane changes safer. They may hide a volvo about to cream you while on their cellular, but lane changes are never a mirror-only thing once these are installed.

The width is fine. They stay adjusted, even when I take off the bike cover at 5 am in the dark.

Try them, it's only a 20 spot.

thanks for all the feedback. i have a 04, and the handlebar isnt hallow, there are screw like things in the ends. How do you get them out and mount the new mirrors?

And is there no product that is made for motorcyles, not bycles? I know ducati's have mirrors at the end of their handlebars.

thanks again!

There's some info here:

The Napoleon's are quite popular, but many don't like them.

The CRG mirrors are AMAZING, with no vibration and excellent construction.  Very well made, but you pay for it.  Most Ducati bar-end mirrors are CRG (since if you can afford a Duc, you can afford the mirrors).

A knock-off version is made by Motrax and sold at Cycle Gear.  It's much cheaper and has a little lower quality than the CRG's, and folding versions aren't available, but people are mostly happy with them.

what is the experience with the cat eye mirrors?  are they as good as the third eyes?
