I have a 2002 GS500 that doesn't start.  It was stalling out when it would stop so I rebuilt the carbs, and haven't been able to get it to start.  I went out at looked at it some more, and found a good amount of gas sitting in the air box.  I have no idea where it came from.  I just noticed the fuel hose routing page, and will compare what I have to that.  I do have one other question, with regard to the fuel hose routing, I have one other outlet looking thing on the bottom of the tank, near the petcock, that I don't know what it goes to.  Does anyone know what if anything hooks up to it.  It might just be a breather for the tank.

So to summarize...Anyone know why I would have fuel in my air box?
And...Where does the outlet/inlet connect to?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

The one in the middle is the overfill drain , fuel in the box might be from stuck float ,many posts on this matter  :thumb:

That is the drain from the filler neck. Open the gas cap and you will see the other end. A hose connects to it and routes down behind the motor next to the right side of the frame in from the brake lever.
Common sense in not very common.

Huh, this is what my bike was doing until I rebuilt the carbs...

Check for stuck floats, and also check that the carb breather hose (the one on the TOP t-fitting) isn't blocked

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.
