Air Tool Trouble

Hey Guys,

This is not really a GS related question, but was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.  I bought a die grinder set this weekend and am having some trouble getting it to work.  I tried contecting the die grinder and the tool started to run (without derpessing the button) and would not stay connected.  Has anyone else that has used air tools had a similar probelm.

was the compressor on or off when you tried to connect it?

The compressor was on.  When I originally put it on the compressor was set over the max PSI, but it still didn't work when I adjusted it to the correct amount

Sounds like something is plugging the line/valve/grinder, especially if it ran before pressing the switch.

If it won't spin with the right pressure, it is plugged, broken, bound.

I would take it back, assuming you still have the receipt.

I took it back; without receipt or any packaging.  Was pretty surpised.

The quick-disconnect wouldn't stay connected?  It sounds to me like you have incompatible fittings.  There are many types, long, short, standard bore, large bore, etc etc.

I suggest you check to see if the connector on (or supplied) with your next die grinder is the same as the rest of your air tools.  Milton type "M" is the usual connector, but there are others.

Yeah I thought of that.  I took off the male connector that was on there any put on another from another tool (with no air on the compressor).  It stayed but when I started up the compressor the tool started operating without the lever depressed. 

Also, the angle grinder with the kit worked with the make connector provided.

I guess it was just a busted tool.
