where did you find this confirmation?

http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/News/newsresults/mcn/2007/September/sept10-16/sep13072008kawasaki250ccninjahitormiss/?&R=EPI-94578

I actually got it of another site, but that one's in croatian so that wouldn't mean much to most people here. It was a dealer announcement that basically said that the new ninja 250 will be available in 2008

jserio

ty. i saw another site as well. but as you mentioned it was in a language i couldn't read. i'm guessing it was the same site you mentioned. ty for the other link. :thumb:

That old Kawi was clean.  My uncle has an old 70's two stroke 3cyl 750 that's been sitting up forever.  I'll restore it one day...

Hmm I am liking the looks of that new 250.

Now I wonder if they are going to give it a proper suspension. If so that could be a really fun track toy.
Why didn't you just go the whole way and buy me a f@#king Kawasaki you bastards.

I'm tellin' ya, that little Kawi 250 looks like a winner.   It all comes down to pricing.  Any buyers ready to plunk down $4500 for a parts-bin 250? :dunno_white:    Sub-$4000 and it may make a dent in the market.

RELEASED TO THE U.S.A.

MSRP: $3,499

One look at the new Ninja 250R tells everyone that this bike is the genuine article. With a new full-fairing similar to the Ninja ZX-6R and -10R supersport bikes, a single kicked-up muffler, UNI-TRAK® rear suspension, high-performance petal disc brakes and a dual seat, this is the most stylish performer in its category.

Compact size, exceptional personality and a low price tag highlight Kawasaki's new Ninja® 250R quarter-liter performer. Considering how much fun it is to ride and the fact that it's the only 250cc sportbike sold in the U.S., it's no wonder the Ninja 250R has been a strong seller for over a decade. Its successful blend of a rider-friendly engine, easy-to-operate chassis and supersport styling worthy of its Ninja moniker, this model was developed to offer real world performance to riders of all skill levels and goes to show that good things do come in small packages.

At the core of the lightweight Ninja 250R is an engine that thrives on high-rpm excitement. The gutsy 249cc parallel twin has been retuned to spice up its smooth and predictable power delivery. It now offers more low- and mid-range torque thanks to revisions to its dual overhead camshafts and a new 2-into-1 exhaust system. A silky smooth six-speed transmission tops off the sportbike equipment list, enabling the 250R to exploit a powerband that's sure to please riders with its beginner friendly low-end grunt and a lively top-end rush that'll keep seasoned veterans satisfied. The coup de' grace, is its ability to deliver excellent fuel economy.

The 250R's new fairing and windscreen not only look great, they deliver improved wind protection for a wide range of riding situations. This lightweight sportbike is loaded with even more rider-friendly features such as an easy-to-read instrument panel and positive neutral finder.

A natural riding position and comfortable ergonomics combined with its lightweight handling, easy controllability and improved throttle response make the 250R a pleasure to ride on city streets. Also new for 2008 are larger 17-inch wheels that offer great handling and improved stability. A larger 290mm front brake rotor is gripped by a powerful 2-piston caliper to provide a healthy dose of stopping power with a responsive feel at the lever. Like Kawasaki's other sport models, the Ninja 250R is fitted with petal discs for efficient heat dissipation.

The simple formula of providing easy-handling agility, lightweight responsiveness, and low ownership costs make the Ninja 250R a force to be reckoned with in the entry-level sportbike category.

If they make a 500R that looks like that... I'd trade my GS in on the first one available here in ATL...

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

The 500 is a goner. The fuel injected 650R is the next step up from the 250R.

It does look really cool, BUT, if it sells for $3500, I'd pay the extra $500 and get a GS...cause then you would have a 500cc at least

With those numbers aside, i haven't seen or heard anything about suzuki making an 08 model GS. either way, i think i may go after one of those new 250s. i like the way they look and it would be easy on the pocket book.

Motorcycle News had an article out about the new 250. In it, they mention the possibility of a Versys style bike based on the new 250R.

I would definitely look at one of those for my commuting duty. Especially if they get as good of MPGs as the regular 250.

What about a worked Kawasaki H2? I don't know numbers, but I'd guess they HAVE to be putting down well over 100HP, and don't weigh much...

This guy did some major work to his.. I understand that it's not "production" after he did all that.. but the pics and video of his bike are amazing, so I had to share..

Yeap I would love to buy that Bike.I know Cody pretty well from the Kawasaki and Suzuki Boards. They have Massaged a Kawasaki H2 to Around 240HP with reed Setups. :thumb:
Another Guy I know from the Kawasaki,Suzuki and Yamahaha board put a Yamahaha RD350 in a 91 EX250.Here's the Video he Just Posted. :thumb:

my local dealer just emailed me back bout the new 250. doesn't have an exact date for me yet but told me the first of the year. said that sportbikes are the last to be released especially when there is a model change. so they will keep in touch with me and let me know when they get an exact date.  :thumb:
