I'm gonna be moving to florida in few weeks and can't take my bike w/ me till this upcoming spring. What should i do as far as storing the bike so that it'll be ready to go w/ minimal effort when i get back? Change oil, drain the fuel tank, etc. your advice would be greatly appreciated

I'd fill it as full as possible with fuel,so the tank won't get condensation in it.I'd also drain the carb float bowls,so you don't get that nasty residue when the gas dries out. :thumb:

What ben said, by filling the gas tank all the way up, you will keep the condensation out and thus keep the rust out.  If you don't want to put $$$ Gas in there, almost any other 'fuel' source in liquid form will work, dunno what kerosene prices are like where you are but down here it's dirt cheap.

If your gone for a few weeks don't worry about it.  if your gone for a few months, take the battery out and put it on a battery minder.  Fill the gas up to the top and say good night.

Put some Stabil in the gas tank, otherwise it evaporates and gums up ur carbs.

Most important thing.
You don't want to be taking the carbs apart.
