The front mudguard is melting from exhaust heat. IS the bike running too lean and hot?

I think its a common problem for people that do a lot of stop-n-go traffic, doesn't get the chance to cool off .

mine was melted when i got the bike, so i just trimmed it back and it looks good now.

I just have some discoloration. The paint is a little wavy. doesn't bother me.

Always park the bike with the wheel turned to prevent more melting.
Common sense in not very common.
