Full choke for no longer than 30 seconds according to the owner's manual.  Warm-up takes at least a minute, though.  Use the throttle to keep rpms up to 1500 til the bike is warmed-up enough to ride away (I wait no longer than a minute to ride away, but continue to use the throttle to keep rpms up at stoplights).
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

I do no longer than 30 of full followed by 10 at half then let it sit and idle for a minute or two from a cold start.  Easy to do if you start the process b4 you put your gear on. In colder weather,  the times vary.  I usually let it run at full choke until it reaches 3.5k on the tach.  then take it down to half and then once it can run half smoothly i take it off choke. Then let it idle until i get my gear on. Easy peezy lemon squeezy
