I can't seem to find any decently priced (let alone inside the US) dominator headlights for my GS. I was thinking of replacing the stock light with some Buell XB12s lamps.

I am concerned the electrics may be a bit tricky. Does anyone know what buell uses for connectors with that type of light? Or what the difficulties will be to install that light.

If you have a source for some around $80-90 please let me know. Buell Sells them for 88$.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

Hy bud, It's not bad at all. For Buell lights, you would need to cut the Suzuki connector off and hardwire the new lights to your bike. The headlights have one too many wires. All you need is a voltage reader. Connect by color and you will be ok. The colors don't matchup perfectly, thats why you will need a voltage reader to find out what goes where. At least I did. I put the low and then high beams on and read what wire went hot. I then spliced and shrunk wrapped them accordingly. Tucked it behind the lights and I was finished. I had to make a cover to hide them though. Too many wires in there.

+1 to Anti

I just gathered all the "extra" wires into neat groups covered each group w/ electrical tape then taped all the groups together  :thumb: You cant tell they are there :thumb:

I got mine from the Buell dealer for about $70  :thumb:

Oh yeah, I got mine at a Harley dealer for just under $70. So, the price is right.

Antibody, Where abouts did you get the connectors? Should they have them at an Advance Auto Discount store?

As for the price of the headlights, I live in a pretty affluent place. Everything is expensive. I picked up Buell turnsignals for 24$ a pair. A little higher than most people spend($14 is what I have heard).
$90 is what I planned on spending for them anyhow.

Thanks for the answers. I find it encouraging having so many people willing to help by either answering questions or pointing you in the right direction.

My thanks to you all.

Kevin,

I didn't buy any connectors. When you open up your headlight bucket... I assume you have a '2000 or older? When you open it up and disconnect your headlight, you'll be left with a connector on the end of a wiring harness. (plastic plug looking thingy) The Buell headlights don't match this. So, you will have to cut this off so you can go wire to wire to connect the Buell double headlamps. If you have any more querries, let me know. The harder part is fashioning brackets to mount the lights. That isn't beyond most though.

If you want a source for connectors, try Cycle-Re-Cycle. I would prefer to not hardwire headlights if I were doing the job, but that's just to make it simpler to disassemble down the road, no practical difference.
