your ZXR400 is 4 stroke and 4 cylinder!! you can't compare 4 cylinders to 2. BTW ZXR400 is very nice bike!! I'm jelaous  :)

Why wouldn't they release a bike like that in the US?? 4 stroke, 398cc 55bhp.

Kasumi

The ZXR's and most other 400's are producing in the 60 to 70hp bracket. My ZXR puts down 70 some hp. Dont have the info on me now it was dynotested by previous owner. Bike was raced however remained fairly standard only carb work was done to remove carb heaters etc... However very very fast bike.

yes! it would be nice if they produced 400s. I would go for it! Very nice performance in light weight bike.
Just  perfect combination.

Not to thread-jack, but has anyone here owned or driven a 500R?

Just curious, there is one up the street with a "For Sale" sign on it.

I was on a 250 once going about 85 on the freeway.

It would stray off course majorly with gusts of wind, and it felt like the engine was gonna blow up.

Guess that extra 100+ pounds of the gs makes quite a bit of difference.

I used to ride an older EX500. Great bike.Plenty fast for a 500 and handled well.Averaged about 65 mpg too.
