Suzuki put up the 08 GIXXER and SV models, but still no 08 GS.

Several people have said there will be no '08 GS500f.

But you really can't go by what's showing up as an 08 on the Zuki website because the Bandit ain't showing up as an '08 last time I looked either. It just went through a major upgrade so I wouldn't think it would be dropped from the lineup this soon.

We will probably have to wait and see.

Seems nobody is keeping their sites up to date right now, the Suzuki US site doesn't show the 08 Bandit 1250 but this local dealer near me does:

Suzuki does show all three size Gixxers but this same local dealer does not, only showing the 08 GSXR1000 model and they aren't up to date yet on the SV models but Suzuki US site is.

Seems the SV650S will be replaced by a SV650SF fully faired model for the US market for 08 and the naked SV650 model will continue.

A number of members here have reported their local dealers have confirmed the GS500F is now gone from the US market but the GS500F appears in 08 form on the Global Suzuki site so it will continue somewhere.

I have been told or read somewhere that the GS 500 is going to be replaced by a 650 vertical twin? Something like a Kawasaki Ninja or Versys 650. Suzi and Kawi did work together CLOSELY for a while so it would not be too big a surprise. In Europe there is a Kawasaki 1000 which is just a rebadged Suzuki V Strom.

If you want to see 'spy photos' of the SV650 SF, just look at any 2005-2007 with the Suzuki after-market lower fairing installed.  Looking at the specs, they did nothing else to the bike whatsoever, which is too bad.  A front suspension worthy of the rest of the machine would have been a nice tweak.

Weird ... the global site also shows a naked GS500.  And it seems Suzuki can't make up it's mind about the SV ... fully faired/half faired/none ...

Worst part is that I might have to "upgrade" my 07 blue SVS to an 08 gray SVSF ...

They only quit selling the naked GS in the US.  It is still available in other markets.  Same for the SV, they have been selling the fully faired SV in Europe for a while now.

I like the 08 colors too but I'll be keeping my 04.

The GS was dropped last year from the UK and most of the European market due to engine emission legislation. Remember its almost 20 yrs old now and the basic engine design goes back even further. There are a few still left here in dealer stock including a yellow "F" at my local dealer that he hasnt been able to sell for over a year despite the present 0% finance deal that Suzuki are offering.

I guess that they are still on the Suzuki website because they are still selling them in countries with less stringent emission regs than here in the UK the USA and other parts of Europe.
