Tires and time

Question: How long should you run on a set of tires regardless of how much tred is left? Is there a recommended time when you should get new ones? I have an 04F and it still has the same tires it came with. There is plenty of tread, but they are going on four years now......any suggestions?

I guess it depends on where you store it and what kinda riding you do and how often you do it. I also have an 04 and just replaced mine, I use my bike everyday for commute then for canyon riding on the weekends and mine were pretty boxy from all the commuting. So I guess its your call.

Personally, they'd be replaced here. Think the 'fun' way of taking the thread off fast for the rear

Oh, and have you ever noticed if a bike sits on the sidestand for a couple of weeks it handles weird for a while afterwards ? Just something to think about.
