Whaaaa .... the 89-00 GS'es never blow up.

I imagine that every model year has its share of DOAs.  If 10% of all 89's exploded in the first months, we wouldn't remember today.  The ones driving around today are obviously the well-built ones.

Well that is just the whole point though. Its not a new motor. Even if they fix all the issues with the 89 after 10% seized, no idea if that happened, the 500 was just a light mod on the 450, 425 and 400 from waaaay back ... the motor should now be bullet proof. The only explaination is suzuki decided that they had to save 30 cents worth of material and decided to put crappy ass main babbit bearings in it.
