It's getting cold...

What's up.

Well this morning, I went to fire up my 04 with 6500 miles, and it wouldn't turn over....cranked but the lights would dim and I let off the starter button. Tried 4 - 5 times then gave up and took the car to work.

Came home and it fired right up. I'm guessing the battery was too cold. Any ideas on how to prevent this? Other then taking the battery out every night and re-installing in the morning?

Just wondering if anyone else experienced this problem, and If I'm harming the machine by cranking it with a cold battery.

It was probably around 50 today in Boston, So I'd say last-night it may have hit as low as 30.

Anyone one else still riding in cold climates? or am I the only nut who hasn't winterized yet....

Use a trickle charger over night, or get a booster pack to help with the cold starts. also What is you bike set-up? exhaust, intake, and jets. A rejet to a stock bike may help with colder starts.
