Brake Lever

Looking online for brake levers show me that the GS one is the same for some other bikes. I have a friend who has a 2002 GSXR750 and a lever he will sell me but want to make sure it will work. It shows 88-95 is the same as the GS and he says the older GSXR's are using the new one on old bikes because of the 5/6 way adjustable instead of the 4. This true? Will it work?
