Remote starting, alarms, no thanks. Any thief that knows stuff just clips the leads while throwing your bike in a freshly stolen white panel van.

A few of the pictures I've seen even had padding in the van, so if an alarm was going off, it wasn't heard when the doors were shut.

I'm not knocking you for it. It's just not something I'd play with, on a carburated bike.

What button on the remote, are you pressing to turn the bike off, try the one that looks like an open lock

It's a GS 500, not the latest R1 or Blade, not the sort of thing you would normally find on Mr organised crimes list of bikes to be stolen, I'm sure . lol. And I would have thought that it would more than likely be local kids or the opportunist, that would be more likely to steal it, besides the bike is worth more on paper, than I paid for it.
The alarm and starter are more like a gimmick rather than a deterrent because, lets face facts here, if some one wants the bike nothing I can do will stop them from getting it in the end, well not legally, anyway lol.

Hi Scott, the Red bars are renthol and the top yoke is an original but the bike had clip on bars and they attach to the top yoke via a silver/grey clamp that looks a little like the top yoke and sits on top then bolted to the yoke in the same way as the risers are, if that makes any sense, lol.
I do have more pictures of the bike, but they have been taken with a cell phone and are not brilliant.

Thats pretty tidy that is Gar`. Looks suitable and well planned. Needs a paint job though, in addition to the front end and I can see a black frame/wheels, gold-chain and chrome sprocket, home-brewed one-off polished aluminium chain guard, rear-sets, a braced and chrome plated swinger with jack-up kit, lots of annodised fittings, stainless brake-lines, uprated front brake, polished carbs and JCB yellow or met`silver bodywork.
I spent too much time and money making mine look like its came straight-from-the-crate to start messing with it now but I have considered finding another to mildly customise along those lines.

Do the bars you have installed make it any more prone to wheelies  ?

I've been thinking about a more upright setup than the stock set I have.

I'd likely go with black though, so as not to look like a stunter or draw any attention from those types.

I didn't "install" the remote starter future. I don't think it's usefull. And I installed alarm to scare off stupid, occasional thieves  :thumb:
Plus when you leave your bike uncovered it works wonders for people who are not intented to TOUCH and sit on your bike, but do so  :icon_twisted:  They jump off very quickly when alarm gives the WARNING sound  :icon_twisted:

(Oh Good) wheelies, on the GS, whatever next? the only way you will get the front end of the GS of the ground, would be with a paddock stand, lol, only Joking, the bars make the bike feel a lot more comfortable, as it's a far more relaxed riding position.
Managed to get hold of an Honda VF 750 F belly pan, (looked like I could mod, it) from a breakers, only cost £10, had to cut and shape a little, and paint it, but it didn't take to long, now just need to make some fixings, to fix it to the frame, I have included a picture, (belly pan not attached to bike yet) I have placed the belly pan up to the bike to see how it will look.

Its tilting a little forward at the minute, but it won't be once the fixings ar done
