got a question...i got an 89 gs ad I'm getting a new tank....will any year of tank fit the gs?

Yes and No.The 01 up tank will fit.I have an 04 on an 89.Get the brackets with the tank.I had to tweak the 89 brackets to work.Nothing major. Some people just leave the front of the plastics hanging.I made little brackets that bolt on with the tank and use the little rubber grommet to hold them.Works great. Here's a close up.The seat will fit and look better if you trim it down.Mine has not been done yet.

Hate to bring this up again, and especially with my first post, but the tank on my '93 is leaking.  It was kreemed at some time by the previous owner, but apparently it didn't last.  I may be able to pick up an '05 tank cheap.  I know it might not line up perfectly with my seat, so I was wondering if I should grab the '05 seat while I'm at it, or will the newer seat cause more fitment issues on my '93 bike?
Thanks in advance.
Other than that I love the bike. :thumb:  I've owned a half dozen or so and would say this is my favorite to ride.

The seat will not work with out cutting and moving the mounts and pads.It will lock in, but will set very high and there is no support,so the seat will bend up when you set on it.Dgyver has done a newer seat and plastics on a mid 90's GS.If you wanna go that route, just pm him for the details.Hope this helps.

Thanks Ben2Go, I think I'm gonna stick with the stock seat for now then.
