I use bar ends protectors from G&S Racing Products from Britain. They are stainless steel with replaceable plastic ends, but you need the original rubber plug and screw or come up with something similar as they don't come with those. They are about the same weight as the stock ones, and I got them mostly for the ability to replace the plastic end if it got scuffed up in a drop or scrape. (mostly, I was ordering their crash bars and the bar ends were cheap enough to add to the order)

But if you're looking to dampen vibration, you HAVE to try filling the bars with lead shot as others have suggested. The difference is unbelievable. I commute every day on twisty roads and used to ride in higher gears a lot to keep the revs lower to minimize vibration. After putting lead shot in the bars, I can keep the revs between 5000 and 7000 no problem. (Of course other things also relate to vibration frustration . . . holding the grips too tight, leaning too hard on your palms, etc.) I used bird shot which is smaller in size and it adds about 2.5 pounds of weight to the front end. If you do this, use caution riding for the first few days as it does change the feel a bit, but favourably in my opinion snd you'll get used to it fairly quickly.

Both of these products saved my bike from worse damage in a fall last year when a taxi made an extremely illegal left turn from a right hand on ramp (in Canada) and cut right in front of me. I tried to avoid T-boning him and in the process went down on the clutch side, but missed hitting him. The crash protector is designed mostly for sliding, (check out the video on the site) so when my bike went down with the full weight of the bike on the crash protector and then slid, the protector snapped off, but in the process it took most of the brunt of the fall and saved any frame, tank, engine damage. All damage was cosmetic and covered by insurance, so the bike's back in original condition. I immediately replaced the crash protectors and bar ends as they really did what they were supposed to do.

Oh yeah  . . . I was wearing kevlar jeans, leather jacket, vented leather gloves, riding boots and full face (modular) helmet. Other than a friction burn and bump on my left knee, I was able to get up, start the bike and ride home. Never, never, never, will I ride without proper gear!!! It saved my butt - literally. The jean material over my left knee disappeared almost on contact, but the kevlar held so my skin never met the road. Since then I got the Concept 6 kevlar jeans from Hood Jeans in Britain that have thicker, softer kevlar and I can easily slip knee pads underneath.

If the bar end weights are made for 7/8" bars, they should work. The site you provided doesn't seem to give much information about them. If they're just solid weights, not sure they'd give you much more vibration reduction than the stock ones. But if you like the look, that alone might be reason enough to go for them.

The GS500F has the mirrors mounted on the fairing, so the mirrors in the web link wouldn't fit as a replacement for stock ones. The ones in the web link are designed to fit into threaded holes on the clutch and front brake lever housings. These threaded holes do exist on the GS500F, but were not intended to be used. I'd try someone elses handlebar mounted mirrors first to see how they would work or whether you'd even like them there instead of on the faring. Not sure if they'd contact the fairing on a sharp turn or not.

do any of you guys have stock 05' gs500f mirrors that i can buy? i just need the right mirror.

Sorry, man. I don't have a spare mirror, but I've found that parts for this bike from the dealer are actually not too bad for cost. If nobody here has a spare, I'd check with a dealer on the cost of a new one.

Sounds like you're bike's been through some tough times with bar ends and mirror missing . . .
