Oil leak question

Taking my bike to the local dealership Monday for my oil leak.  When I ride the bike I get a stream of fresh oil on the left side of the engine just up from the clutch hard to tell where its coming from cause the wind moves  it all along that side.  I usually wipe it down when I park it and no leak just sitting only see it when I ride, it has 4k miles I have only put about 300 on it so I dont know how well it was taken care of before I had it, it was a trade in.  I check the oil and its not low, could it be overfilled? and does this sound serious? Also should I try and make the dealership fix it for free? or a discount? As is , on used vehicles, but damn I paid too much for it to be leaking with lessl than 500 miles.  They told me they check all there trade in real good but who knows.
