Your experience with oil seals.....

I'm going to replace the drive shaft seal,the clutch push rod seal next to it and the gear shifter seal below it.The first two are behind the front sprocket and it's protective plate in back of the sprocket.I've got the plate off and see the seals.

Couldn't find much at all about replacing them.They look like they come straight out the front.How did you get them out?
And are there any tips about putting the new ones back in back in. Thank's Ronin

what i do is drill a small hole and then use a slide hammer with a screw on the end, i screw the screw into the seal and slide hammer it out.

the only thing to note on install is to apply a little grease to the inner seal(where the push rod or shaft slides on) and use a big socket and hammer to tap it in, make sure the sockets as big as the seal so that you are contacting it on the outermost portion of it.

you my not need to use the slide hammer on the push rod seal, just remove push rod and use a screwdriver to pry the seal out through the hole wherethe pushrod was in.

 I will add.......... be careful when screwing in any self-tappers for removal, you dont want to damage the component behind the seal and ensure the lip on the inner diameter does not turn inside out when placing it over the shaft.....just keep it square as you drift it in and you will be fine.
