I just got my bike and I have a question.

I picked up my bike, a 2001 GS,  yesterday and I need help figuring out where a little hanger goes. Can one of you post a pic of the hangers for your front brake line?

I'll post a pic after I figure out how.

If its the one I'm thinking of, there is a hole in the rear of the front fender that it goes into.

The hanger looks like #8 in this picture.

Only reason I say this is because it took me a while to figure this out myself.

Looks like everyone is showing the hanger for the speedo cable and not the brake line brackets requested?  Parts 15 and 16 here:

They attach to the lower triple and fork leg don't they?  Need pic for other (brake) side.

Here's the one on the lower fork leg (slider):

OK so it is on the spedo cable. It is the smaller metal one. I don't see it in the images.

BTW thanks for the quick reply.

Must attach to lower triple clamp aka steering stem.  My bike is in garage across street behind another bldg, going for a ride shortly and I'll look and post later if you don't get it before then.   Think one goes to upper triple, one to lower triple and one to lower fork slider as in your pic.

Will this photo do?  That hanger attaches under the bolt closest to the back of the left fork.

Just got back from my ride and can confirm your picture is correct.  :thumb:

Now I'm wondering about yours (Kerry) and DLWs amazing psychic powers.  gmark clearly said "hangers for your front brake line" and you both knew he meant speedo cable.

Heh heh - I wasn't actually trying to answer the question directly.  All I wanted to do was encourage folks to use better graphics!

Funny how it all worked out, though.

Kerry,

I didn't realize there where "better" images.  I've always gone to BB for a quick reference.

Thanks for pointing this out!

What do you know I'm missing the bolt.

Thanks guys!
