For future reference the drive shaft seal, the clutch push rod seal next to it and the gear shifter seal below it.Are doable from the outside without cracking the case.
I saw a few topics with this in question. The drive shaft seal isn't to bad,the clutch push rod seal is a snap and the gear shifter seal is a royal pain in A$$ to get out.Ended up using very small screwdrivers to chip away enough of the hard rubber shell. Then prying ever so carefully...

I did find a black widow that made her home in the upper drive shaft case :o.I'm painting the bike black with red.So I guess it's fitting.

For Pete's sake be careful out there people! :icon_mrgreen:
Well, either you're part of the problem, part of the solution,...

Reviving this... the parts fiche shows two seals on the output shaft?  Any reason to muck with the inner seal?

Now that I remember...that isn't two seals.Just an metal piece and the rubber seal, both in One.it's mounted onto the back of the seal as I remember it right out of the pack.I had just a few drops of oil until the new seal was heated to running temp.No leaks now.
