$700 OBO.  Engine seized and needs replacing/serious work. CA registration and title in hand. 15,355 miles, new Bridgestone rear tire (less than 200 miles), SW-MOTECH Alu-Rack Toprack with trunk (not pictured).  I just don't have the garage space to sell it part by part, or the time to take on a rebuild project. My loss... your gain. I need a daily ride so I'm looking to sell the whole thing. I'd be happy to send more pictures; just email me at kbouris@gmail.com.

looks like a Florida plate on the bike

Bike's in san diego, ca.  Pictures were taken last year when I was living in FLA.  Only difference is that hard-case trunk I added to haul more stuff around.

What year is it? 04's came with a full fairing.

kellehar

not all 04's came with a fairing. you could buy them with or without same as the 05,06 and 07

The original bike was yellow with fairing; the previous owner decided to turn it into a cafe racer and did the custom paint job.  I just turned it back into a slightly more practical daily ride.

Bike's been sold.  Some lucky guy will be doing an engine swap with an '89.

ohgood

Something about it kept bugging me. Apparently the headlight wasn't a gs light, and it was a little low too. Guess the PO didn't have all the right stuff when he converted to cafe.

Congrats on the sale.  :thumb:

Is it my imagination or are the newer GS'es dropping like flies .. .OK OK I have had this discussion before, if indeed in the era of no internet these 89's were seizing up, its so looooong ago, and there was no net back then, we'd have forgotten it all. In my brief experience, pre 96 bikes were generally better made, remember the clip on's, the aluminum linkages etc etc.
OK Possible, but also, there may be a bit of the baseball bats breaking type scenario going on ... People dont know how to maintain an old air cooled motor, and factories aren't training people on the old cheap stuff, and the result is a poorly made poorly maintained set dying prematurely ...
Cool.

It's the montra of the new age "build 'em good, but not too good" :cookoo: I've seen Suzuki do that on other models. As the model ages ,they find ways to cut cost of production.

The Buddha

I think that has changed to build them good looking ... and not good at all and not easy to work on either atleast for bikes sold in the US, cos they know we'll never ever use them enough to explore the limits of the warranty ...
Cool.
